before eim I was able to wrestle the tools location in a well defined location

with eim, it is a total confusion

I am on Linux, I have

damiano@devuan3:~/.espressif$ and tools beneath it

also

damiano@devuan3:~/work/IPPml-ws/wiradio/esp-601/.espressif/v6.0.1/esp-idf/tools$

please, stop doing magic and just follow instructions

eim ask where things should be ? ok, great, USE THAT, do NOT create extra levels/layers

I 100% agree.
Worse yet when using EIM, and selecting a specific location for the tools, VSC wont be able to locate the tools.
So when you go to create a new project wizard, it gets all janked up.

I could never see why anyone would want ESP-IDF in one location, and the tools automatically put in another.
