Conform with the RED fail

Postby _Mihec_ » Mon Jul 27, 2020 7:20 am

Hi,
after trying to conform our product including ESP32-WROOM-32 with the RADIO EQUIPMENT DIRECTIVE (RED) we fail RF tests because of spurious emission radiated in ~3.3GHz range (see attached chart). There is some kind of frequency sweep which is correlate to WiFi channels. After examination we found that unwanted emissions disturbs ESP32-WROOM-32 module when WiFi is active (if only BLE part is active there is no unwanted emissions). Emissions are more present in the area of module RF shield.

Is there any known solution or maybe any hint for solve the problem?

Many thanks,
Miha

FWIW, you may also want to try mailing sales@espressif.com; there are people there that have experience with regulatory compliance.

We are currently facing similar issues. What was the outcome here?

@_Mihec_ where you able to fix the issue? We have similar issues with the ESP32-MINI.
Or @hoots_classic did you perhaps resolve the issue after posting the reply?

Thanks,
Kane
