PSRAM ID read error: 0xffffffff

Hello,
We recently purchased a new esp32 wrover module. Every thing was working just fine when it just started failing by giving the following error,

PSRAM ID read error: 0xffffffff

Any suggestions? There are no peripherals connected to the ESP32 and now it does not even run the Bare Minimum example in the arduino IDE.

You can't just run a wrover *module* by itself; what are your connections to it?
