ESP32 USB native does not have a COM associated by Windows 11

Postby SorinESP32 » Tue May 13, 2025 10:11 am

Hi guys,

I'm new to the ESP32 world, and I have a problem with all my ESP32 boards having the native USB. I have a SuperMini ESP32-H2, ESP32-S3 WROOM-1-N16R8, ESP32-C6-DevKitC-1. For the last two (that also have a USB to UART), the connection that goes through the USB-UART port is working fine, but the problem (for all) is when I'm trying to connect through the native USB port. My Windows 11 does not allocate a COM port for the board. I can see the board as a USB JTAG/serial debug unit under the Universal Serial Bus devices, but with no associated COM. No entries in Ports (COM & LPT). I installed/uninstalled/reinstalled the USB JTAG/serial driver, put all the boards into a download mode, but no change.

Do you have any idea how to fix the problem?

Thank you!
