First-Time Project with ESP32 – Need Help Choosing Components

Hi everyone,
I’m a complete beginner in electronics and robotics, and I’m trying to build my very first project using an ESP32. I have some ideas about what I want to do, but I’m not sure if the components I’m choosing are suitable.
Here’s what I’m planning:
Motors & Wheels: To move a small robot around.
Motor Driver: L298N for controlling the motors.
Sensors:
Ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 for obstacle detection.
IR sensors / bump sensors for detecting edges or collisions.
PIR sensor for detecting humans in the room.
Power: LiPo battery 7.4V with a step-down module to feed the ESP32.
Other: Breadboard and jumper wires.
I would really appreciate any advice on:
Whether these components are compatible with ESP32 and each other.
If the battery and step-down setup is safe and sufficient.
Any suggestions for improvements, or if I’m missing something important.
I also need help to find:
bump sensors
LiPo battery 7.4V with a step-down module to feed the ESP32
I’m completely new, so any guidance or tips would be amazing. Thank you so much for your help!
