Apple silicon tool support

Does 5.5 support Apple silicon? 5.4 tools work but 5.5 has incompatibilities.

I'm using 5.5 on Apple Silicon with no issues. What problems are you running into?

Thanks for your reply. I am using VSC with platformio and copilot with Claude Sonnet 4. When Platformio installs Espressif IDF on my Mac m2 it defaults to 5.4. Upgrading it to 5.5 manually comes back and says the tools are incompatible with Apple Silicon. Reverting back to 5.4 and all is good.

Very strange. The tools have had support for Apple Silicon for a while now and that hasn't gone away. I don't have this issue with my command line / VS Code installation, so it sounds like PlatformIO needs to be updated to support 5.5. I'll see if I can find out what the trick is, but you may have better luck posting the issue on their forums

Version 6.12.0 (which uses IDF 5.5) worked just fine on my M4 Max.
