ESP8266 ESP-WROOM-02D RTOS

I’m wondering if the ESP8266 ESP-WROOM-02D can achieve a seamless, almost parallel experience when working with UART and a TCP connection for sending and receiving packets, or if it will always be blocking. For example, while retrieving TCP packets, is it possible to also receive some UART data at the same time? Using the RTOS.
